Here’s something a friend of mine, fellow journalist and photojournalist Jojie Alcantara, wrote about me in the Mindanao Times on June 30, 1994 when I was just starting my career as a journalist:
“Jon is a sweet, funny guy. Not comical or slapstick, but downright intellectually funny. He has this way of giving lines with a deadpan expression, just like his articles. And you tend to believe him, because of that chinky-eyed serious countenance behind the glasses.”
